UPDAiTE keeps what it needs to build your weekly top 10 and nothing more. We count page visits without cookies and without knowing who you are, there's no ad tracking, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers.

What we store

Your email address, so we can email you a sign-in code instead of using a password. Your survey answers: the games you play, your platform, your goals and the rest of what you tell us. The top 10 lists we make for you each week, your answers to “Did this feel made for you?”, and any notes you send with the Feedback button, along with the page you sent them from.

If you add your Twitch or Kick channel, we store its name and, for each stream you finish, a few numbers we work out from it, like average viewers and the game you played. While you're live we check your channel every 5 minutes. Those raw checks are deleted after 24 hours and only the numbers for each stream stay. After each stream we email you its numbers, and every one of those emails has a link to turn them off.

Where the stream data comes from

Only public data from the official Twitch and Kick APIs, the same numbers anyone can see on your channel. We never ask you to connect your account, and we can't see your private dashboard, earnings or messages.

The trend map shows a few channels live in each game: their public channel name and how many viewers they had when we last checked, taken from the same public stream lists. We keep those for 12 hours at most and replace them every 3 hours. If it's your channel and you'd rather not appear, email updaite.io@gmail.com and we'll take it off.

Cookies and browser storage

We use one kind of cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. It's set by Supabase, which runs our login. While you fill in the survey, your answers sit in your browser's session storage, and once you finish they're kept in local storage until you sign in, then cleared. Local storage also remembers how you first reached us: any tag in an invite link (like ?ref= or ?utm_source=), the name of the site that sent you, the first page you opened and when. The first time you save your survey we store that once with your account, so we know which invites work. We never use it for ads. That's all. Since none of it follows you to other sites, there's no cookie banner.

Counting visits

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people open each page and which site sent them. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Each visit is counted with a short-lived hash that resets every day, so we can't tell who you are or follow you across days or other sites. We only ever see totals, like page views per day, referring sites and countries.

Who helps us run it

Vercel hosts the site and counts visits. Supabase stores the data and handles sign in. Google's Gmail sends your sign-in and stream emails. Anthropic's Claude writes your list, so your survey answers are sent to it each time a list is made. Your email isn't part of that. Each one only uses your data to run its part of UPDAiTE.

Getting your data deleted

Email updaite.io@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and we'll delete your account and everything tied to it within 7 days. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold. Questions about any of this go to the same address.
